Veteran Indian actor Bharat Kapoor, known for his impactful roles in film and television, has sadly passed away at the age of 80. While he may not have always been in the spotlight, his powerful performances, particularly as a villain, left an indelible mark on Hindi cinema.

Kapoor's acting journey began in 1972, and he remained a significant figure in the industry for nearly forty years. His filmography includes notable titles such as Noorie, Ram Balram, Love Story, Swarg, Khuda Gawah, and Satyamev Jayate, with Noorie and Khuda Gawah being particularly memorable highlights of his career.

Beyond films, Bharat Kapoor was also a beloved figure on Indian television, featuring in popular series like Campus, Parampara, Rahat, Saans, Amanat, Tara, Chunauti, and Kahani Chandrakanta Ki. Although he had stepped back from acting in recent years, his legacy continued to resonate with fans who cherished his work.

His friend and fellow actor, Avtar Gill, confirmed the news of Kapoor's passing, revealing that he had been unwell in the days leading up to his death at home around 3 PM. Reports indicate that he had recently been hospitalized at Sion Hospital in Mumbai before returning home, where he ultimately succumbed to multiple organ failure.

Gill attended the funeral, which was attended by a small group of close friends, primarily from their IPTA theatre group. A prayer meeting is set to take place at Kapoor's home on April 30, from 5 PM to 7 PM. Bharat Kapoor leaves behind a remarkable legacy, remembered for his captivating portrayals of villains in Indian cinema.
