Why the video stood among commuters

The video of Taranjit Singh Sandhu travelling in the Delhi Metro has stood out to viewers due to the absence of heavy security and typical VIP protocol. He appears relaxed, calm and was seen chatting with fellow passengers and blending well with the crowd.

Social media users praised the “no VIP drama” moment, calling it refreshing to see a senior official travel like a common citizen. The video has since triggered curiosity, with many asking if others have also spotted him on the metro, turning a routine ride into a viral talking point about accessibility, simplicity, and public perception of leadership. Many users called out the couple in the background, and one of them wrote, "Then standing man is the Respected LG of the capital, and the youth literally had no shame. Such youth destroys our culture." (sic) "Peeche dekho peeche moment hai bhai," another user joked.

But some netizens did not agree and one of them commented, "Bro I was in metro yesterday when he was travelling. You have no idea about the level of VIP drama. So stop misleading."

"I saw him for Punjab delhi match yesterday. He was sitting in front of me. He really appeared to be a humble person. So many people for selfie and he obliged. When ladies came to meet , he got up from his chair each and every time. Delhi is blessed to have him," commented another.

"Such an aura. Should have been a central minister. People like him should lead from the front rather than be paper tigers," a third one wrote.
