New Delhi: AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal wrote a letter to Justice Swarana Kanta Sharma in which informed that he will neither appear before her personally nor through a lawyer. Kejriwal wrote in the letter that his “hope of getting justice from Justice Kanta is shattered.” He added, “That is why I have decided to follow Gandhiji’s Satyagraha. I have made a decision based on my conscience. I reserve the right to appeal Justice Swarana Kanta’s decision in the Supreme Court.” He has boycotted her court, calling it Gandhi’s Satyagraha, and will appeal her decision to the Supreme Court.
Kejriwal’s RSS allegation against Justice SharmaEarlier, the former Delhi Chief Minister highlighted his “apprehension of bias” against Delhi High Court judge Swarana Kanta Sharma hearing CBI’s plea against his discharge by a lower court. He was personally arguing his plea seeking recusal of Justice Sharma from the case when Kejriwal alleged that the judge had attended programmes organised by the Akhil Bharatiya Adhivakta Parishad four times. The lawyers’ body is affiliated to the RSS.
He said, “The ideology they follow is something we strongly oppose, and we oppose it openly. This case is political. If Your Honour is attending programmes of a particular ideology, then an apprehension arises in my mind.” When the judge asked if Kejriwal thought that she followed that ideology, the AAP supremo promptly replied, “Do you?”.
His party AAP recently suffered a massive blow as Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha exited along with six other MPs and joined the BJP. Chadha claimed that the AAP has abandoned its foundational principles in favour of self-interest and his rebellion came after being removed as the party’s deputy leader in the Rajya Sabha over accusations of him doing “soft PR” for the BJP. While reacting to Chadha’s exit, Kejriwal simply wrote on X, “The BJP has betrayed Punjabis once again.”
