Hyderabad: Preparations are reportedly underway to bring the life story of legendary Carnatic singer M. S. Subbulakshmi to the big screen, with casting speculation generating buzz in the film industry.
The biopic, based on the life of the first musician to receive the Bharat Ratna, has been a subject of discussion in Tollywood for some time. Earlier reports suggested that actor Sai Pallavi would play the lead role.
However, recent speculation indicated that Rukmini Vasanth might replace Sai Pallavi due to her busy schedule, which includes multiple upcoming projects.
Amid the rumours, the film’s team has clarified that Sai Pallavi remains the final choice for the role and no changes have been made. According to sources, the actor has already begun preparations to portray the iconic singer.
The film is expected to go on floors in October after Sai Pallavi completes her current commitments.
The project is reportedly being directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, known for Jersey, with music by Anirudh Ravichander and production by Bunny Vasu.
