Prince Harry once got behind the wheel of a stunning £350,000 classic Jaguar E-Type once owned by an iconic pop star. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle jumped in the iconic convertible just hours after their Royal wedding at Windsor Castle in May 2018.

Despite its classic appearance, the model has been converted to fully electric power put together by engineers at Jaguar Land Rover Classic. The EV certainly packs a punch, with drivers hitting 0-62mph in just 5.5 seconds, around one second quicker than the original combustion E-Type.

The converted E-Type is understood to have an average range of about 170 miles on a single charge. The model retains its original brakes, suspension, and chassis to preserve the look and handling of the iconic machine.

It is understood that the electric conversion system is completely reversible, meaning owners can revert the model back to its original spec. The model is based on a 1968 Series 1.5 Jaguar E-type, with the chassis understood to have previously belonged to Jamiroquai musician Toby Grafftey-Smith.

Graffey-Smith's widow, Gabriella Crewe-Read, previously said: "The royal wedding car was bought from Toby. His brilliance is everywhere."

The E-Type had been especially prepared for the Royal occasion, with the classic model handed a new registration plate 'E190518' - the date which the couple was married at Windsor Castle. However, it is believed the model was not purchased by Prince Harry, with the silver-blue machine understood to have been handed to the Royal couple on loan.

The original Jaguar E-Type is one of the most recognisable classics on the road, with Ferrari founder Enzo even describing the model as the "most beautiful car ever made".

Jaguar has been a favourite in Royal circles, with Kate Middleton's sister, Pippa Middleton and husband James Matthews, driving off from their 2017 wedding behind the wheel of a 1961 E-type. The Royal Family isn't new to sportscars either, with King Charles holding the keys to a classic 1970s Aston Martin DBS.

The Monarch received the car as a 21st birthday present, and has since converted the car to run on wine and whey, a byproduct of cheese.
