Mumbai: Karan Johar has shared an update on the new season of his popular talk show Koffee with Karan. The filmmaker confirmed that Season 9 of the celebrity chat show is expected to premiere during the Diwali festival.
Karan Johar made the announcement during an interaction at an event organised by The Week. Responding to a question from the audience, he stated that the upcoming season will be launched around Diwali.
The previous season, which concluded in 2024, had generated significant attention, particularly an episode featuring Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone, which sparked discussions on social media.
Season 8 also featured several prominent personalities, including Sharmila Tagore, Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, Neetu Kapoor, and Zeenat Aman.
Launched in 2004, the show has completed nearly two decades and is known not only for celebrity conversations but also for several controversial moments. Past episodes involving Sonam Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Emraan Hashmi, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Hardik Pandya and Alia Bhatt had earlier drawn public attention.
The upcoming season is expected to continue the show’s format of candid celebrity conversations.
