Is the old-style resume finally dying out? In 2026 the job market feels like a place and founders are starting to think that a two-page document might not be the best way to find the right person. While most companies are still using keyword-optimized resumes and multi-stage interviews, one entrepreneur from Bengaluru is trying something. Vikramaditya Shukla , the founder of Easemyexpo has made a stir online with his approach to recruitment. He has basically stopped using resumes and structured interviews. Instead he has raw conversations with people.

In a post on X that went viral Shukla said he spends the 10 to 15 minutes just talking. No prepared questions, no complex frameworks. He wants to see if a candidates energy fits with the company culture. He looks for people with " agency " meaning they can take initiative and solve problems on their own. If the energy is right. He thinks the person "gets it " they are hired on the spot.

This bold approach has sparked an online debate. Some startup employees like the "on-the-spot" approach while others are skeptical. Critics worry about scalability; it's hard to stay objective when hiring people across different departments.

People also question how candidates are shortlisted without resumes. In a market there are concerns that this approach might hurt talented but quiet individuals. However for job seekers of automated systems being judged on personality and mindset is a welcome change. Whether this is the future of hiring or just an experiment, Shukla has highlighted the desire for a human connection, in the workplace.
