Johannesburg: Deepti Sharma starred with an all-round effort as India beat South Africa by 14 runs to record their first win in the five-match women’s T20I series here on Saturday.
In reply to India’s total of 185 for five, South Africa had Sune Luus (40) and Tazmin Brits (30) leading their reply but the hosts lost their way towards the end with a flurry of wickets, making 171/9 in the end.
Deepti scored a crucial 36 not out and then claimed 5/19 to make a strong contribution in India’s win.
South Africa have an unassailable lead of 3-1 with one more game left to play.
