Junaid Khan, the eldest son of Aamir Khan, is set to release his second theatrical film titled Ek Din. This romantic drama, which marks the Bollywood debut of Sai Pallavi, is directed by Sunil Pandey and is scheduled to hit theaters on May 1. With two films already under his belt, Ek Din will be Junaid's third acting venture. As a theatre graduate, expectations from him are notably high. As the release date approaches, it’s a good moment to reflect on his previous works. Junaid first appeared in the OTT film Maharaj, followed by his theatrical debut in Loveyapa alongside Khushi Kapoor. Here’s where you can catch both films on OTT platforms.

Maharaj

Maharaj, which premiered on Netflix on June 21, 2024, is inspired by the Maharaj Libel case of 1862. The film narrates the journey of Karsan, a journalist and social reformer, whose family is deeply devoted to Maharaj JJ. Karsan's life takes a tragic turn when his wife, Kishori, engages in a spiritual ritual that leads to unforeseen consequences. Overcome with guilt, Kishori takes her own life, prompting Karsan to confront the spiritual authority amidst societal backlash. As he struggles, Viraaj (played by Sharvari) enters his life, offering hope. Directed by Siddharth P Malhotra, Maharaj is currently available for streaming on Netflix.

Loveyapa

In his first theatrical outing, Junaid portrays Gaurav Sachdeva, affectionately known as Gucci, in Loveyapa. The narrative revolves around his romance with Baani Sharma (Khushi Kapoor), a couple deeply in love. However, Baani's father, Atul Kumar Sharma (Ashutosh Rana), a strict lawyer, imposes a challenge when he discovers their relationship. He demands that Gaurav and Baani swap their phones for a day, leading to chaos when secrets are revealed. This romantic comedy, directed by Advait Chandan, is available for streaming on JioHotstar.
