According to reports, the match officials and stadium management raised concerns regarding some security issues in and around the stadium, after which the decision to cancel the match was taken. Actually, during that time there was an atmosphere of tension between India and Pakistan and both the countries were continuously attacking each other. There was a blackout across India including Dharamshala, after which the management had decided to cancel the match. After this, most of the players of the team returned to their homes.

Safety gets priority

Although both the teams were fully prepared to play, but after discussion with the officials it was concluded that it would not be safe to hold the match in the current situation. Although official information is limited, such cases generally may involve security concerns. Security is the first priority in IPL. If at any time there is doubt about the safety of players or spectators, the match is postponed or cancelled.

Punjab was batting first

Punjab Delhi’s match was canceled not because of weather or playing conditions, but due to security concerns. Although it was disappointing for the fans, this decision was taken keeping in mind the safety of the players and spectators. Let us tell you that Punjab Kings came to bat first in the match. He had scored 122 runs after 10.1 overs, only after which the match had to be stopped midway. Punjab also looked strong in this match.
