Meanwhile, Punjab Police has also expressed serious objection regarding this documentary. The police have written a letter to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting demanding a ban on this series to be released on OTT platform ZEE5 on April 27. The letter sent by V Neerja, Special DGP, Cyber Crime Branch of Punjab Police, said that the series showcases the life and criminal journey of Lawrence Bishnoi, which also covers high-profile cases like the murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala. Police say that such material can glorify organized crime and influence the youth in the wrong direction. This may also have a negative impact on law and order. The makers of the series say that Lawrence of Punjab is not just the story of one person, but shows that aspect of society, culture and system, where ambition, power and identity together give birth to a new kind of crime network.
