Express readers issue verdict on their favourite news channel - and it's terrible for BBC

Express readers have been voting for the news channel that they think is the most trustworthy, with the results dealing an embarrassing blow to the BBC. Meanwhile, one channel came out on top, and many readers don't trust any news channel at all. In a Daily Express Poll, this publication asked which news channel do you trust the most? The available answers included GB News, BBC News, ITV News, Channel 4 News, Sky News, or none of them. It comes as many of the channels have come under scrutiny from Ofcom in the past and faced complaints of being biased. Recently, GB News was hit with a whopping 3,815 Ofcom complaints following a rant made by presenter Patrick Christys about grooming gangs in the UK, and viewers were left unimpressed with BBC Breakfast as one segment sparked a storm of complaints, as they hit back in a major bias row.

Each broadcaster faces its own fair share of both praise and criticism, but we wanted to know which one you think really comes out on top - and it was clear.

A whopping 1,220 readers cast their vote in the poll, which was published on April 22. A staggering 759 of those voted for GB News - making the 'people's channel' a clear winner.

Surprisingly, 247 people don't trust any news source at all and voted for "none of them". Sky News came second, with 89 votes.

However, it was a huge blow to the BBC, which received 70 votes, and to ITV, which was trusted by only 37 readers. Channel 4 had just 18 votes.

Considering that the BBC is the only publicly funded channel, it is somewhat embarrassing that it can't be trusted.

It is primarily funded by a mandatory annual television licence fee paid by UK households, which accounts for about 75% of its roughly £5 billion revenue.

According to the broadcaster, the BBC's mission is "to act in the public interest, serving all audiences through the provision of impartial, high quality and distinctive output and services which inform, educate and entertain".

One of the BBC's public purposes is to ensure that news and current affairs content is impartial, provided to the highest editorial standards, and offers a range and depth of analysis and content not available elsewhere.

So, for them to be among the least trusted news sources among our readers makes you question whether they are truly delivering on their mission.
