Chandigarh: On Friday, Punjab's Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann criticized the AAP members of Rajya Sabha who recently left the party to join the BJP, labeling them as 'gaddars' or traitors.
During a press briefing, Mann accused the BJP of attempting to fracture the AAP and claimed they had 'betrayed the people of Punjab.'
He stated that since they couldn't find any wrongdoing on his part, their strategy shifted to undermining AAP.
Mann, who just returned from a week-long trip to the Netherlands and Finland aimed at attracting investments to Punjab, expressed that the BJP is unsettled by his growing popularity among the public.
He emphasized that the people of Punjab remain loyal to AAP and that the party's strength surpasses that of any individual.
The departure of 6-7 members does not represent the entire state, he asserted.
Raghav Chadha and Sandeep Pathak announced their switch to the BJP, along with five other MPs from AAP.
In a prior joint press conference in Delhi, Chadha revealed that a significant portion of AAP's Rajya Sabha members had decided to leave the party and form a faction within the BJP.
Among those who resigned were Swati Maliwal and Harbhajan Singh, as disclosed by Chadha.
