I'm A Celebrity star Scarlett Moffatt struggled to hold back tears as she was forced to leave the ITV camp after becoming the final campmate to leave the show before the live final. On Thursday night (April 23), Ant and Dec returned to the helm for the last time, delighting viewers with the latest antics from the South African camp. Viewers were treated to another jam-packed episode where the campmates endured three gruelling trials that put their minds and bodies to the ultimate test.

They started the day by catching their breakfast as eggs rained down on them from above after being rudely awoken by a robotic chicken hidden up in the trees. Thankfully, the team caught 10 eggs, so each campmate got two for breakfast.

But the team didn't have any time to relax before they were thrown into the ultimate ITV challenge: The South African Cyclone. This time around, the five finalists were forced to dress up as safari animals before taking part in the nail-biting obstacle course whilst the crew sprayed them with water and threw balls at them.

Just when they thought they could put their feet up after completing the mind-boggling cyclone, they were dragged back out into the Savannah, where they were strapped into a glass container. There, they were forced to keep count of four different-coloured balls as creepy crawlies descended upon them throughout.

At the end of the challenge, they were asked to write down the number of one type of ball, with the star furthest away from the correct answer forced to bid farewell to the ITV camp. Unfortunately, it was Scarlett's time to say goodbye, as Ant and Dec revealed that she was the furthest away from the right answer.

It was at this point that the mum-of-one began to well up as she bid farewell to her fellow campmates just hours before the live final. It didn't take long before fans flocked to X - formerly known as Twitter - to share their disappointment at her departure online.

One user penned: "Gutted for Scarlett. My winner. Think Mo will win, and that's preferable to Harry, but hope Adam gets it." Another agreed: "Should've been Scarlett, Gemma and Adam in the final", as a third echoed: "Scarlett was robbed!!"

A fourth argued: "I wish it could have been Adam, Scarlett, Ashley and Gemma doing the celebrity cycline. They are the deserving winners in my eyes." Fans will have to stay tuned to see which campmate will be crowned the new I'm A Celebrity Legend. The live final airs on ITV1 or ITVX from 7.30pm.
