Pakistan's all-rounder Mohammad Nawaz was found positive for doping. Now this player has given his answer to ICC and PCB. He has denied knowingly consuming banned drugs. Mohammad Nawaz is accused of taking banned drugs during the T20 World Cup but he has clearly denied it. A Pakistan Cricket Board source said on Thursday that Nawaz has denied knowingly consuming any banned substance or drugs.
Nawaz had taken medicine
According to reports, Nawaz has said in his reply that he had used some medicines after feeling ill but he did not take any kind of intoxicant. Nawaz's reply has reached PCB and ICC. Now what action will be taken against him will be known later but for now this player has got permission to play in PSL. According to reports, ICC will inform PCB about further action in a few days. According to reports, if ICC is not satisfied with Nawaz's answer then he can be banned from cricket.
Pakistani players have been caught in doping before also
Nawaz is not the first Pakistani player who is involved in doping case. In the year 2006, there was a big doping scandal in Pakistan cricket. At that time, fast bowlers Mohammad Asif and Shoaib Akhtar were found positive for banned drugs and were sent home from the ICC Champions Trophy held in India. Both these players were banned for some time but after appeal they were given relief. Three more players of Pakistan had failed in the doping test, which includes spinners Raza Hasan and Yasir Shah as well as batsman Ahmed Shehzad.
