Deepika Padukone’s recent pregnancy announcement has sparked a wave of speculation around her upcoming film Raaka, particularly regarding the extent of her role.
Some reports claimed that Deepika Padukone’s part might be reduced or that she could even be replaced. However, the film’s team has now firmly dismissed these claims.
In an official statement to The Times of India, the makers clarified that there has been no change in plans and labelled such reports as unfounded. “Everything is moving as planned. Deepika Padukone plays a crucial role in Raaka, and the shoot is unfolding seamlessly with great energy on set,” the team stated, putting rumours to rest.
Interestingly, this clarification comes shortly after reports suggested that Deepika intends to continue working on the film throughout her pregnancy. According to an industry insider, “During her pregnancy, Deepika Padukone is shooting intense action sequences for Raaka… She will continue to shoot for the film throughout her pregnancy.” The source further emphasised that necessary precautions are being taken to ensure her safety while filming. “She will continue to shoot for the film throughout her pregnancy,” the insider reiterated, highlighting her commitment to staying on schedule.
With both Raaka and King operating on tight timelines, Deepika is reportedly determined to keep things on track. Directed by Atlee and backed by Sun Pictures, the film also stars Allu Arjun in a powerful role. The makers had earlier unveiled his first look on his birthday, featuring a striking bald appearance and an intense, rugged vibe.

Helmed by Atlee, Raaka is touted to be a pan-world project starring Allu Arjun and Deepika Padukone. Allu Arjun will reportedly be playing a triple role in the movie set in a parallel dimension.
Meanwhile King is SRK’s next outing after Dunki. It is directed by Siddharth Anand and also stars Suhana Khan, Deepika Padukone, Saurabh Shukla, Jaideep Ahlawat and Raghav Juyal in the lead roles.
King is going to release this Christmas.
