Badrinath Temple: There is good news for pilgrims planning to undertake the Char Dham Yatra in 2026. Following Kedarnath Dham, the portals of Badrinath Dham are now also set to open. Let us guide you on how to register and how to plan your journey.
Badrinath Yatra: The 2026 Char Dham Yatra has officially commenced. Today—April 22—the portals of Kedarnath Dham have opened. Meanwhile, the portals of Badrinath Dham are scheduled to open for devotees tomorrow—April 23, 2026—at 6:15 AM. Devotees are eagerly awaiting this moment. Badrinath Dham marks the final and most significant stop on the Char Dham Yatra circuit. If you, too, wish to visit this sacred site, let us explain how to register and which routes you can take to get there.
How to Register?
Just like Kedarnath, pre-registration is mandatory for visiting Badrinath Dham. You can complete this registration using either online or offline methods.
Online Registration
To visit Badrinath, online registration can be completed via the official website of Uttarakhand Tourism: registrationandtouristcare.uk.gov.in.
Upon opening this website, you will see an option for ‘Char Dham Registration’; click on it.
A new page will then open, allowing you to register for the Char Dham and Hemkund Yatra. Fill in all the required details and sign up.
If you already possess login credentials, you can simply sign in directly.
Additionally, registration can also be done by downloading the mobile application named ‘Tourist Care Uttarakhand’ from the Google Play Store.
Offline Registration
Offline registration for the Char Dham Yatra is also a straightforward process; however, for this, you will need to visit either Rishikesh or Sonprayag.
Once there, you can fill out the registration form by presenting your Aadhaar Card or any other valid proof of identity.
How to Reach Badrinath? There are three ways to reach Badrinath: first, by flight; second, by train; and third, by road (bus).
By Flight: This is the easiest and quickest way to reach your destination. For this option, the nearest airport is Jolly Grant. From there, you can take a taxi to reach Badrinath Dham. However, this method tends to be slightly more expensive.
By Train: If you are on a tighter budget, you can also travel to Badrinath Dham by train. To do so, you will need to reach Rishikesh Railway Station. From there, you can find a bus or a taxi to take you to the Dham.
By Bus: If you prefer to travel by bus, you can catch a bus from Delhi that will take you to either Haridwar or Rishikesh. From there, you will have the option of taking a direct bus or a taxi. Thus, you can choose your mode of transport based on your personal comfort and preference.
