I'm A Celebrity fans were left utterly distraught after Ashley Roberts became the latest campmate to be eliminated from the competition. On Wednesday night (April 22), Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly returned to the airwaves, delighting viewers with another drama-filled day in the South African camp. Minutes into the ITV show, the campmates were forced to put their knowledge to the test when they were set a brain-scratching puzzle.
The cast were tasked with arranging the coloured keys in the correct order using only guesswork and elimination to win the challenge. Olympian Mo Farah ultimately won the challenge, correctly arranging the keys in the correct order in just over 30 seconds, but trailing behind in last place was the Pussycat Dolls singer, who took a staggering 11 minutes and 23 seconds to complete the challenge.
The star couldn't help but laugh when the embarrassing results were revealed before she bid farewell to her campmates just days before the live final. As she rejoined the Geordie duo outside of the camp, she couldn't help but chuckle as she admitted: "I'm out on a bloody puzzle".
It didn't take long before fans flocked to X - formerly known as Twitter - to share their heartache at her exit online. One user penned: "Aww, raging for Ashley! She was brilliant in there! Love Mo, though, I'm so glad he's doing well."
Another agreed: "ASHLEY GOT ELIMINATED?!?! The best series in years quickly turning into the WORST omg. Unforgivable," as a third echoed: "Absolutely fuming Ashley is leaving cause she took the longest on a stupid key game."
Meanwhile others hit out at Jimmy Bullard for forcing the star to leave prematurely after he pulled out of the show unexpectedly on Tuesday night (April 21). During Tuesday's challenge, Ant and Dec expected two campmates to be eliminated from the Bushtucker Trial.
But things took an unexpected turn when the footballer shouted out I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here before he even took part in the challenge. At first, Adam Thomas launched into a fierce tirade, believing that the footballer had pulled him out of the competition, too.
However, the remaining campmates voted to let Adam stay, meaning ITV bosses were forced to come up with another way to eliminate another campmate in an alternative challenge. One user fumed: "Jimmy basically sent Ashley home, this challenge had to happen as his exit meant there were an odd number of celebs, so needed to be even to resume pairs, another fave gone through no fault of her own."
Another agreed: "That was totally unfair. Poor Ashley, if it wasn't for Jimmy quitting in the trial, then they wouldn't have (fairly) kept Adam in. Scarlett & Ash were doing well in that trial, they'd have been through. That stupid puzzle was to even the numbers out for today's pairs."
A third chimed in with: "That's such an unfair way for Ashley to go. It wouldn't have had to happen if Jimmy hadn't been such an a**hole either!" A fourth added: "Ashley going out on a trial they wouldn't be doing had Jimmy not been a d**k the day before."
But Ashley wasn't the only campmate who was eliminated from the reality show this evening. Joining her outside of the camp was fellow musician, Sinitta, after she struggled to keep up with her campmates in the next Bushtucker Trial, Dragged Through Hell.
The campmates were split into teams of two where they were chained together by the waist and forced to put their mental arhythmatics to the test. They were tasked with unlocking a series of lockers that contained several creepy crawlies with a star inside. To open the locker, they had to solve a sum.
As the teams got to work, Sinitta immediately struggled when she came face-to-face with a locker full of snakes. Whilst the rest of the teams managed to unscrew the star at the back of the locker, the So Macho singer struggled to find the hidden star and repeatedly apologised to her teammate, Craig Charles.
As the challenge approached the end, the 62-year-old became frustrated with her lack of progress and shouted out the killer phrase: "I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!" It was at this point that leading campmates Adam Thomas and Scarlett Moffatt were forced to make a difficult decision on which campmate to send home: Sinitta or Craig.
The hitmaker then pleaded with Adam and Scott to send her home, insisting that it was her time to leave and that it wouldn't be fair on the Red Dwarf star to send him packing through no fault of his own. After watching the dramatic scenes play out, fans flocked to X to share their thoughts online.
Unlike Ashley and Jimmy's departure, many agreed that Sinitta did the right thing in leaving the show when she did and allowing her co-star to carry on without her. One user penned: "Sinitta going home was fair. She did say those words. At least she attempted the trial before saying it too."
Another agreed: "Sinitta was the right choice to go there...", as a third added: "Sinitta was actually genuine. Jimmy could never." Meanwhile, a fourt argued: "Feels like Sinitta really redeemed herself this time around compared to the first series, she's like a differernt person."
Her dramatic exit sealed the five remaining finalists on the ITV show, who were told to prepare themselves for the Celebrity Cyclone South Africa, which the hosts warned would be bigger and better than ever. Fans will have to stay tuned to see what that entails tomorrow night.
