A 3.4 magnitude tremor hit the Anand district in Gujarat on Wednesday, the Institute of Seismological Research said.
No casualties or property damage were reported, an official said.
The tremor was recorded at 4.35 pm, with its epicentre located 36 km north-northeast of Anand, the Gandhinagar-based institute said.
"All taluka development officers, mamlatdars, and chief officers have been informed about the tremor and instructed to report any damage. So far, no damage to property or any casualty has been reported," said Mamlatdar (Disaster) Jaykishan Sadhu.
