A National Security Guard (NSG) commando in Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu's security detail fainted during his public speech on Monday. The incident is believed to have been caused by heatstroke amid the intense heatwave affecting Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. A video of the incident has since gone viral on social media.
The clip shows the commando standing beside the Chief Minister before suddenly collapsing. He was immediately caught and assisted by officials present nearby. CM Naidu also noticed the incident as it unfolded.
Meanwhile, theAndhra Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority (APSDMA) has warned of extreme weather conditions across the state. On Monday, several districts are expected to experience severe heat, while other regions may see thunderstorms accompanied by lightning, according to The New Indian Express. APSDMA Managing Director Prakhar Jain urged people to remain cautious and follow safety precautions. On Sunday, the highest temperature in the state was recorded at 45.4°C in Nagaradone, Kurnool district.
In a separate development, Chandrababu Naidu, who turned 76 on Monday, marked his birthday by visiting an Anna Canteen in Vijayawada. Accompanied by his wife, Nara Bhuvaneswari, he had breakfast at the facility and interacted with beneficiaries of various welfare schemes.
On the occasion, Bhuvaneswari also contributed Rs 76 lakh towards covering the operational expenses of Anna Canteens for the day.
