Judd Trump made a subtle apology after a fortunate shot during Tuesday's World Snooker Championship match against Gary Wilson left BBC commentator Steven Hallworth stunned. Trump rallied after being 4-1 down to end the morning session 5-4 up at the Crucible.

His fourth frame began with an incredible fluke shot which saw the world No.1 apologise to Wilson before taking all the momentum to level the match against his stunned opponent and then take the lead for the first time in the tie.

"Where is this red going?" Hallworth said. "Well, how has the red gone in there? He didn't get all-that-close to the initial pot, he catches the cue ball and it somehow tracks down that cushion, what a fluke!"

AndBBC pundit and former World Championship semi-finalist Joe Perry has had his say on the fortunate shot.

He said: "I don't know if there is such a thing but the snooker Gods, the balls don't forgive you which we can refer to Gary Wilson - should have won the frame before, messed up.

"The balls didn't forgive him, Judd Trump... incredible fluke to start that break but once the fluke went in it was all just pure Judd Trump magic wasn't it? It somehow finds its way in, but from that moment on Judd Trump was absolutely magic."

Perry also refrenced how the shot could be a turning point in the match. He added: "That could be a massive turning point. That's more like Judd Trump. It might be the catalyst he needs to really turn his form around in this match. It's a huge frame.

"Judd will be fired up, he's won a frame he shouldn't have won, in style. The momentum has changed."

Trump then hit an impressive break of 77 to take a slender lead for 5-4.
