New Delhi: Before the elections in West Bengal, political violence has erupted in Dantan area of ​​Medinipur district. Just before voting, BJP candidate Ajit Kumar Jana has been accused of murderous attack. The incident took place on Tuesday afternoon, when BJP workers had taken out a big motorbike rally in support of the candidate.

How did the attack happen in the rally?

The rally started from Haripur and was going towards Mohanpur via Sabra. As soon as they reached Antala area, a gang of unknown miscreants suddenly attacked. The attackers used sticks. BJP alleges that the attackers were associated with Trinamool Congress (TMC). Many workers and supporters including BJP candidate Ajit Kumar Jana were injured in the attack. Many motorcycles were broken.

BJP’s allegations against TMC

BJP has directly accused Trinamool Congress of the attack. The party says that this attack was carried out deliberately on the last day of the election campaign. The injured have been taken to the hospital for treatment. BJP workers termed this incident as election violence and demanded that strict action be taken against the culprits.
