On the occasion of the trailer launch, both Riteish Deshmukh and his wife Genelia Deshmukh looked very emotional. Ritesh’s eyes became moist when he talked about his old desire to make a film. Ritesh Deshmukh told that he had dreamed of playing the role of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and making this film in the year 2016 itself. But due to some reasons this film could not be made at that time. Then after a few years he tried again, but this time the Covid-19 pandemic came and everything came to a halt.

Ritesh said very emotionally, ‘It seemed as if Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj himself was saying to me, ‘Wait my child… the right time has not come yet.’ But in the year 2023, he finally felt that the time was right. He said, ‘This time I felt as if Shivaji Maharaj came to me and said – Yes, now the time has come and the shooting of the film started in the same year.’

Why did Genelia cry?

Riteish Deshmukh also thanked the entire team of the film. He thanked Boman Irani, Vidya Balan, Mahesh Manjrekar, Sachin Khedekar, Bhagyashree, Fardeen Khan, Jeetendra Joshi, Amol Gupte and all the other members. The most special moment came when Riteish thanked his wife Genelia Deshmukh. With tears in his eyes, Ritesh said, ‘Dreaming is not a big deal. Anyone can dream. But when you are dreaming and someone supports you, believes in you and helps you make that dream a reality, then that person is very special. For me, that person is Genelia. Hearing these words of Ritesh, Genelia also became emotional and her eyes also became moist.

During the trailer launch, Ritesh specially thanked all the big actors working in the film. First of all he thanked Sanjay Dutt. Ritesh told that when he told Sanjay Dutt about playing the character of Afzal Khan in the film, Sanju sir said yes without even thinking for a moment. Ritesh said, ‘When I met Sanju sir, he said that our fathers (Sunil Dutt and Vilasrao Deshmukh) knew each other very well. Come on, let’s do this film for them. Sanjay Dutt also called Ritesh his younger brother on this occasion and said that he has full faith in every decision of Ritesh. Due to the old relationship between the two families, it was never a question for them to refuse this project.

Abhishek Bachchan is like an elder brother

Ritesh also thanked Abhishek Bachchan wholeheartedly. He called Abhishek his ‘elder brother’ and told that Abhishek did not even once ask any question about working in the film. Ritesh said, ‘My elder brother Abhishek did not stop even once. He stood by me like a true brother. I am very grateful to him. Abhishek Bachchan also supported Ritesh and said, ‘As Sanju sir said, Ritesh is like my younger brother. If Ritesh asks for something, we all stand with him without thinking. If Ritesh calls and I do not come, then this cannot happen.
