Jasmin Sandlas talks about childhood and fame

In a conversation on Ranveer Allahbadia’s podcast, the singer opened up about her early life and the struggles she faced while growing up. She shared that even as her career began to take off, certain emotional issues continued to affect her, making her journey more complex than it appeared from the outside.

Talking about her childhood, the singer explained that she went through several challenging phases and often had to figure things out on her own. She said that growing up was not easy and that both parents and children go through their own struggles. However, she emphasised the importance of emotional support, stating that children need guidance and nurturing rather than pressure.

Jasmin added, “I struggled a lot. I think growing up, I have gone through certain phases in my life, figuring out things for myself in a journey. That was not comfortable. Life happens. It is a lot for the parents, but also for the children. We need guidance and nourishment… Why are parents so tough on their children? When life really hits you, you do look for support. I do regret some things I did in those 2-3 years when I was drinking. A lot of things piled up - I was famous on one side, I was feeling certain things, my family dynamics broke apart, my father was no more, and I was successful. I drank more than I should have, and I regret it, but it was important for me at that time."

Opening up further, the singer addressed the emotional impact of her childhood. She shared that she experienced heartbreak at a young age, often feeling hurt by situations involving her parents, even if it was unintentional.

She explained that such experiences can leave a lasting impact on a child, creating feelings that stay well into adulthood. According to her, when children do not find a safe emotional space at home, they often search for comfort and belonging elsewhere.
