Blackpink’s Jennie joins Time’s 100 Most Influential People of 2026 list

Jennie of South Korean girl group Blackpink has been named to Time magazine’s 100 Most Influential People of 2026 list.

She was included in the Artists category of the list released on Wednesday, joining prominent figures from politics, culture and sports, according to the Korea Herald.

Jennie achieved another milestone last year by becoming the first female K-pop solo artist to place three songs on the Billboard Hot 100 simultaneously, KBS World reported.

Like Jenniea track from her solo album Rubywas the most-streamed K-pop song on Spotify in the first half of 2025.

Grammy-nominated American artist Gracie Abrams wrote a blurb about Jennie in Time, describing her as “a star” and highlighting “the magic at her core” that captivates audiences on stage, on screen and behind the scenes.

“What makes Jennie a true star is that even in her quiet moments, she possesses the same kind of undeniable presence that cuts through all the noise, and she carries that with kindness and warmth,” Abrams wrote.

Other Korean Americans named on the list include nine-time Grammy winner Anderson .Paak and snowboarder Chloe Kim, who was lauded for competing through an injury at this year’s Winter Olympics despite missing out on a third consecutive title.

Born Kim Jennie in Seoul, the 30-year-old studied in New Zealand for five years before returning to South Korea to debut with Blackpink in 2016. She launched her solo career in 2018 with the single Solo.
