According to the latest reports, the company is going to show the way out to around 8,000 employees in its first phase of layoffs this year. This company led by Mark Zuckerberg is once again preparing for a ‘surgical strike’ to increase its efficiency and reduce costs. This time Meta has decided to start its retrenchment process in a very planned manner. According to the information, the first phase of layoffs will begin on May 20, 2026. In this phase, approximately 10 percent of the total workforce of the company will be affected. This decision of the company has created silence not only in America but also in Meta offices spread across the world. There is an atmosphere of fear among the employees as to who will be next. Surprisingly, Meta is not facing financial crisis at this time, rather the entire focus of the company has shifted to Artificial Intelligence (AI).
