A feel-good moment from the Gujarat Titans vs Kolkata Knight Riders Indian Premier League 2026 match held at Narendra Modi Stadium went viral on social media.
ICC Chairman Jay Shah and CAB President Sourav Ganguly were seen sitting in the common stand amongst the fans rather than the VVIP gallery during the match. These images soon started circulating with many praising them for their humble act.
Fans Hail "No VIP Culture" Sight
Two of the most prominent personalities in the cricket administration sat among the ordinary fans, which left many surprised and in awe. Netizens lauded this sight, deeming it as the "no VIP culture" act and an exemplary move to show humility and stand with fans.
Users on social media remarked that the two cricket giants were observing the sport in a manner as that of a normal audience. This situation invited much discussion on social media platforms as they lauded the move as being "refreshing" and commendable.
Jay Shah's visit to IPL matches is quite common, however, this particular scene made it to social media, as he was seen sitting amidst common people without any security. Both he and Sourav Ganguly were spotted with an unburdened posture as they both were engrossed in watching the game with the public.

Action on the field: Green's innings was key to KKR's fightback
Beyond this heartwarming off-field encounter, it was also an enthralling contest. KKR had a dismal beginning in their innings with Ajinkya Rahane dismissed for a golden duck by Mohammed Siraj. Angkrish Raghuvanshi and Tim Seifert also fell cheaply as KKR were put in a muddle at 32 for 3.
In came Cameron Green who played an impressive innings. The all-rounder notched 79 runs in 55 deliveries and forged crucial partnerships with Rovman Powell and Anukul Roy that steered KKR towards a respectable score of 180.
As for the GT bowling lineup, Rashid Khan had an uncharacteristic poor outing as he gave away 43 runs in 3 overs without any wickets. Ashok Sharma also took a couple of wickets but kept on conceding runs while Siraj was economical, finishing with 2 wickets in 23 deliveries. Kagiso Rabada was another key performer with 3 wickets.
As there was dew on the field, the chase promised a thrill ride but ultimately the off-field tribute by Shah and Ganguly was more widely lauded.
