This matter is to the match played between Canada and New Zealand. According to reports, doubt has been raised on an over bowled by Canadian captain Dilpreet Bajwa during this match. Especially the fifth over of New Zealand’s innings is under scrutiny, in which no-ball, wide and a total of 15 runs were given. Before Dilpreet, Canadian pacers Jaskaran Singh and Dillon Helliger had also bowled expensive overs. At the same time, spinner Saad Bin Zafar bowled the wicket maiden in the third over.

This whole matter started after the release of a documentary ‘Corruption, Crime and Cricket’ by Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC). This documentary makes serious allegations of corruption, pressure in team selection and suspicious activities within Canadian Cricket. According to the report, the ICC Anti-Corruption Unit (ACU) is now investigating these allegations in depth. Additionally, an old phone recording has also surfaced, in which the then coach Khurram Chohan had claimed that some board members were pressurizing him regarding the selection of players. At present the investigation is going on and ICC is keeping an eye on this matter. If the allegations prove to be true, it could prove to be a big blow to the cricket world.
