Shubhankar Sharma, the overnight leader, delivered an impressive eight-under 64, boosting his lead to seven strokes at 20-under 196 after the third round of the inaugural Rs 1 crore Boulders Classic at Boulder Hills Golf and Country Club in Hyderabad. The 29-year-old golfer, who has won twice on the DP World Tour, equaled the course record previously set by Honey Baisoya just a day before. His round included nine birdies and a single bogey, solidifying his control as he heads into the final day.

Challengers in the Mix

Tied for second place at 13-under 203 are Delhi's Rashid Khan (67-70-66), Chandigarh's Angad Cheema (68-69-66), and the first-round leader, Vishesh Sharma (65-70-68) from Hyderabad. Rashid and Cheema both recorded six-under 66s, while Vishesh managed a four-under 68.

Sharma Reflects on His Performance

"Today, I played exceptionally well—probably the best I've performed all week. Everything was working, and even when I faced a slight dip in momentum, I quickly recovered with birdies," Sharma remarked. He emphasized the importance of consistently hitting close shots and accurately gauging yardages and wind conditions. "I've maintained a positive mindset, which is evident in my game. The focus has been on my process, minimizing mistakes, and enjoying the game," he added.

Looking Ahead

Despite his significant lead, Sharma plans to remain aggressive and stick to his strategy for the final round. "I'm just enjoying the moment, staying relaxed, and continuing with what has worked for me over the past three days," he stated.

Other Notable Players

Ajeetesh Sandhu from Chandigarh, a former Asian Tour champion, recorded his third consecutive four-under 68, placing him fifth at 12-under 204. Saptak Talwar, the leader in PGTI rankings, shot a six-under 66, tying for sixth at 11-under 205 alongside Honey Baisoya, who followed his course-record 64 with a three-under 69.
