Lalit Modi the former IPL chairman laud his words for the modern day legend Virat Kohli as he considers him the best Indian batter till date and stated that he is above the crickeing legends like Sachin Tendulkar and Kapil Dev.

Speaking to Michael Vaughan, the former captain of the England cricket team, Lalit Modi stated the name of the greatest Indian to have ever played the sport without any doubt and in an instant.

Vaughan asked: 

"Right, let's finish with these quickfire questions. Greatest ever player for India?" 

'Virat Kohli': replied Modi immediately.

Vaughan continued:

'Virat Kohli. Not Sachin? Not MS? Not Kapil Dev?':

'Virat': he replied again.

Virat Kohli is possibly the most consistent Indian batter across formats for more than ten years. He is an important member of the Indian squad and has created multiple records. In ODIs he has 14,797 runs from 311 games while for tests he has made 9,230 runs from 123 matches. The number of T20I matches for India by Kohli stood at 4,188 runs.

Moreover, Kohli is also dominant in the Indian Premier League (IPL) where he has been scoring more than any other batter in the history of the league with 8,889 runs in 272 games for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) which came to a conclusion as RCB claimed their first-ever IPL trophy under the leadership of Kohli last season.
