The combination of these two things is beneficial in many ways including boosting immunity, but turmeric milk is hot in nature, that is why it is consumed more in winters. Turmeric has anti-inflammatory and immunity enhancing properties, which help in protecting the body from infections. Calcium and Vitamin D present in milk make your bones strong. It contains protein which is beneficial for muscles, while B12 helps in the production of hemoglobin and in maintaining the smooth functioning of the nervous system.
Disadvantages of drinking too much
Experts say that milk is actually hot in nature and turmeric is also a hot spice. When you consume it in large quantities, some people may face problems like heat in the body, acidity, disturbance in digestion or mouth ulcers. Especially those whose body is already hot or who have stomach (digestion) problems, they should be more careful.

How to drink turmeric milk?
Doctor Bansal says that if you want to include turmeric milk in your diet in summer, then take it in very small quantity and drink it at least half or quarter of an hour before sleeping at night. You can take half a glass of average sized turmeric milk. It is better if you take it three days a week instead of daily. Do not take the milk too hot but let it cool down. It should just be lukewarm.
When not to drink turmeric milk?
- If any day is very humid then drinking turmeric milk should be avoided, otherwise nervousness may increase.
- If you are pregnant, you should avoid drinking turmeric milk or consult your doctor first.
- Even if you have any kind of health problem and are taking medicines, take turmeric milk only after consulting the doctor.
- If you have the problem of lactose intolerance (indigestion after consuming milk and its products), then avoid turmeric milk.
