Now the Maruti Suzuki Ignis (Maruti Suzuki Ignis) cannot be purchased. According to a report by ‘Cartoq’, the company has discontinued this popular and affordable hatchback car. The car was priced between Rs 5.35 lakh and Rs 7.55 lakh (ex-showroom) and was sold through ‘Nexa’ showrooms. The report further suggests that the company is gearing up to launch a new ‘micro-SUV’, which will compete directly with the ‘Tata Punch’.

Production stopped

According to a report by Cartoq quoting dealer sources, the company has stopped production of the Ignis and the car has now been discontinued. Dealers are also no longer accepting bookings for ‘Ignis’. However, Maruti Suzuki is yet to issue any official statement in this regard and the car ‘Ignis’ is still listed on the official website of ‘NEXA’.

Got a ‘facelift’ in 2020

The ‘Ignis’ was first launched in early 2017. The car received a ‘facelift’ in 2020, bringing significant changes to the design of this ‘tall-boy’ hatchback. The facelift was available in three main trims Delta, Zeta and Alpha. The company had already discontinued the previously available ‘Sigma’ variant.

Impressive features in Ignis

The Ignis had many impressive features. These included a 7-inch ‘Smart Play’ touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 6-speaker audio system, climate control, electrically adjustable ORVMs and features like ‘push-button start’ in higher-end models. One of the most striking features of the car’s design was the ‘toggle-type’ switch, which resembled an aircraft switch.
