Shocking Incident by the River

The bodies of a young couple were discovered along the banks of the Betwa River. The boy and girl were found intertwined, with foam around their mouths and bags tied to their feet.

Children playing cricket nearby were the first to spot the bodies and raised an alarm. Local residents rushed to the scene, prompting a call to the police. Upon arrival, authorities began their investigation and found cigarettes at the site, along with the couple's sandals placed together. Police suspect that the pair may have taken poison due to a romantic relationship gone awry.

Initially, officers questioned local residents, who confirmed that the couple did not belong to the area. After circulating their photographs, the couple was identified within two hours. Family members arrived shortly after, revealing that the two had been missing since Sunday evening.

The girl's brother shared that his sister was a student in her intermediate year and was their family's only daughter. Their father had passed away, and he could not provide further details. Meanwhile, the father of the boy, Kashiram, mentioned that his son was uneducated and worked as a waiter. He was engaged to a girl from the town of Jakhora, and they were supposed to attend a ceremony for the engagement the following day.

Kashiram recounted that his son had left home around 3 PM on Sunday, claiming he was going to listen to a religious discourse, and never returned.

Neighbors speculated that the couple may have taken their own lives due to familial disapproval of their relationship. After the post-mortem on Tuesday, the bodies were handed over to their families. Doctors reported no visible injuries on either body, suggesting poisoning as the likely cause of death. However, due to the unclear circumstances surrounding their deaths, samples have been preserved for further examination.
