Television star Urvashi Dholakia, known for her forthright nature, has raised alarm over the disruptive late-night construction activities in Mumbai's Juhu locality, labeling it a 'midnight horror' for the residents. She took to social media to share an open letter highlighting the disturbances caused by construction work allegedly linked to Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah producer Asit Kumar Modi.

In her posts, she included multiple videos showcasing the late-night construction chaos. She expressed her distress, stating, “THE HORRORS OF JUHU LATE NIGHT CONSTRUCTION WORK. Subject: Open Letter Regarding Ongoing Late-Night Construction. I am writing this open letter to express serious concern about the ongoing late-night construction activities in our vicinity, which have been causing considerable disturbance to residents.”

She pointed out that construction has been ongoing for several days, often exceeding the permitted hours and continuing late into the night. The relentless noise from machinery and drilling has made it difficult for residents to get adequate rest, adversely affecting their health and well-being. “This property where the construction is taking place is currently owned by Mr. Asit Modi @officialasitkummarmodi and his family,” she noted.

Urvashi urged local authorities to take swift action, stating, “I call upon the relevant authorities and builders to take immediate action to: • Strictly adhere to permitted construction hours • Minimize noise pollution during early mornings and late nights • Ensure that residents’ right to peace and rest is respected.”

I waited outside my building on the road until 5:08 in the morning, and no one arrived!!” She questioned what her situation would have been if she had been in a real emergency.

Urvashi emphasized that this issue transcends mere inconvenience; it affects the fundamental living conditions of families, especially those with children, elderly residents, and working individuals who are all impacted by the lack of consideration and compliance.
