Koratagere (Tumakuru ): A car and two motorcycles were destroyed after an unidentified person allegedly set them on fire in Kolala village of Koratagere taluk on Saturday (April 11).
The vehicles belonged to Virupakshayya, owner of a Bharat Gas agency in the area. The burnt vehicles include a Mahindra car, a Royal Enfield bike, and an Ola electric scooter.
According to reports, the vehicles were parked inside the compound of the house as usual. Around 12:40 am, a masked individual entered near the compound, poured petrol on the car, and set it on fire before fleeing the spot. The entire act was captured on CCTV cameras.
The fire quickly spread, reducing the car and both bikes to ashes. Thick smoke surrounded the house, but alert neighbours rushed to the spot and poured water, preventing a bigger mishap.
A complaint has been registered at Kolala Police Station. Police have collected CCTV footage and have begun efforts to identify and trace the accused.
