Ben Affleck gives Jennifer Lopez mansion for free

TMZ reports that Ben allegedly handed over his full stake in the luxury mansion he purchased with JLo when they wed. Newly surfaced court documents reveal that the former couple modified their property settlement agreement to reflect a "transfer of property among spouses." While the filing does not specify the exact terms, TMZ reports that Affleck transferred his entire interest in the property to Lopez without any financial compensation.

About Ben and Jennifer's mansion

The plush mansion, was purchased in May 2023 for approximately USD 60.85 million in cash. The couple then spent several million dollars on additional renovations with plans to make the space their marital home. However, they put the property on the market in July 2024, just a month before Lopez officially filed for divorce.

Jennifer Lopez to benefit from sale of mansion

While the couple initially listed their mansion at USD 68 million, they brought down the asking price to USD 52 million in September. The home remains unsold, with the two reportedly still in search of a buyer.

With the current developments, JLo is now the new owner of the property and reportedly doesn't have to split the amount generated from the sale of the property. Lopez is currently residing at the property while renovating another home she recently acquired.

Ben and Jennifer's divorce agreement

As per reports, Ben and Jen did not have a prenuptial agreement when they married in July 2022. As per California law, all income and assets acquired during their two-year marriage, including profits from projects and shared properties, were subject to a 50/50 division.

Ben Affleck sells AI company

The generous 'gift' comes amid speculation about Affleck’s financial position, following claims that he recently sold his AI company, InterPositive, to Netflix for a reported USD 600 million. As per reports, the actor and director co-founded the start-up company that focuses on using AI for post-production, editing, and lighting, rather than generative content, to improve efficiency. Affleck has also joined the OTT giant as a Senior Advisor.
