Devanahalli: Karnataka Home Minister Dr G Parameshwara on Friday said that the police department will recruit 1,000 sub-inspectors and 8,000 constables at the earliest.
He was speaking after inaugurating the new buildings of the Devanahalli Assistant Commissioner of Police office and the Devanahalli Police Station, which have been constructed under CSR funding by Prestige Group in Devanahalli town.
The minister said major changes are being carried out in the police department.
Referring to the PSI recruitment scam, he said the issue had been resolved and 545 candidates have already completed training and joined duty.
He further said that the Chief Minister has given approval for the recruitment of sub-inspectors and constables, and the proposal has also been cleared by the Finance Department.
“The recruitment process will be taken up in the coming days,” he said.
Praising the newly built police office and station, Parameshwara said the Prestige Group has constructed a very beautiful building under its CSR initiative.
He said the structure could be considered a model police building in the country, adding that the design has come out very well.
