Mumbai. Domestic stock markets Sensex and Nifty registered a rise in early trading on Friday. BSE Sensex rose 630.08 points to 77,261.73 points in early trade while NSE Nifty rose 203.6 points to 23,978.70 points.
Among the 30 companies included in the Sensex, shares of Axis Bank, Asian Paints, Bajaj Finserv, State Bank of India, ICICI Bank and Bajaj Finance gained the most. Whereas shares of Sun Pharma, Infosys, Tata Consultancy Services, HCL Tech, Tech Mahindra and Titan remained in loss.
In Asian markets, South Korea’s Kospi, Japan’s Nikkei 225, China’s SSE Composite and Hong Kong’s Hang Seng were in the lead. American markets closed on Thursday with a positive trend. The price of international standard Brent crude stood at $ 96.11 per barrel with an increase of 0.20 percent.
According to stock market data, foreign institutional investors (FIIs) were sellers on Thursday and sold shares worth Rs 1,711.19 crore. On the other hand, domestic institutional investors (DIIs) bought shares worth Rs 955.90 crore. On Thursday, Sensex closed with a fall of 1.20 percent and Nifty with a fall of 0.93 percent.
