Tyson Fury's daughter Venezuela was ringside alongside her fiance to cheer on her father in his comeback bout. Fury stepped back into the ring after a 16-month absence following his two losses to Oleksandr Usyk in 2024. He faced towering Russian Arslanbek Makhmudov at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and was backed by several members of his family, including wife Paris, who had been firmly against her husband's return to boxing.
Paris arrived with son Prince John James, daughter Venezuela and her fiance Noah Price, who are due to wed in the coming months. Paris said this week: "I'm happy for him. It's what he wanted, and I knew it's what he wanted. "All this time, when he kept saying he was out the ring, 'I'm out the ring, I'm not boxing, I'm not boxing' - I knew in the back of my mind that wouldn't be true." The couple's eldest daughter, Venezuela, said: "I don't think he ever retired."
Paris revealed how she had attempted to steer Tyson towards other pursuits, saying: "I kept suggesting to him, 'why don't you train people as a boxer? Why don't you get involved in something that you enjoy?' He doesn't have any hobbies. And it's hard to take away someone's life's passion, and I couldn't be the one to do it."
"I said to him so many times like, 'oh, I wish you'd stop boxing now, you've done everything you need to do. You don't need to do it anymore'. But he felt that itch, and he still wants to do it. So I'm not going to deny him that dream.
"He couldn't find anything else good. No matter what we did, we couldn't find him something he enjoyed. It's hard. It's hard work, a one-track mind with him."
Fury disclosed this week he had offered his prospective son-in-law matrimonial guidance when he was nervously asked for consent to marry his daughter.
Fury received a visit from amateur boxer Noah after he became engaged to Venezuela in September and the former world heavyweight champion granted his approval - but only following a candid conversation.
"He did ask for my permission. He came in and sat down and I explained that marriage is not an easy thing and they are only young kids," Fury said.
"I asked if this is what they really want? He said yes and I gave him my blessing. Fair play, he wasn't shaking but I could tell he was nervous. Fair play to him.
"He's a heavyweight boxer and they say that a daughter always goes for someone like her dad and she definitely has! I don't know if he's had a stag do yet - if he does, I'll be there and I'll bring the strippers."
A date remains to be announced for the nuptials and Fury has delegated all the arrangements to his wife Paris while he concentrates on his comeback bout against Makhmudov. "I'm looking forward to it, but that will have to wait until after Saturday night," Fury said.
"Fair play to Paris and Venezuela, they've actually done this wedding without my input at all. I've had zero to do with it. I'm away doing business. I'm not thinking about domestic stuff at home. I'm thinking about the fight and that's it. I'm out of bounds. Don't tell me about anything like that."
