SSC CGL 2025 Final Result: The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has declared the final result for the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) Examination 2025. A total of 15,118 candidates have qualified in this examination. These include 6,458 candidates from the Unreserved category, 3,832 from OBC, 2,221 from SC, 1,132 from ST, and 1,475 from EWS. This time, the SSC has introduced a new system known as the 'Sliding Mechanism.' Its objective is to minimize the number of unfilled vacancies in the examination and to maximize opportunities for eligible candidates.

What is FRTA?
FRTA stands for 'First Round of Tentative Allocation.' It constitutes the first phase of the Sliding Mechanism. In this phase, candidates are provisionally allocated posts and departments based on their preferences and merit. Subsequently, candidates are required to complete an Identity Verification (ID Verification) process to confirm their allocation. This process involves Aadhaar-based authentication, biometric verification, and live photo capture.

What are the 'Fix' and 'Float' options?
At the time of verification, every candidate is required to choose one of two options: 'Fix' or 'Float.'
Fix Option: This signifies that you are definitively accepting your current allocation as final. Once the 'Fix' option is selected, no further changes or upgrades will be possible. You will proceed to join the service in the specific post allocated to you.

Float Option: By selecting this option, you indicate your willingness to be considered for an upgrade. If, during the sliding rounds, a superior post becomes available based on your merit, you may be allocated that post. However, if you are offered an upgrade, you are strictly required to accept and join that new post; failure to do so may result in the forfeiture of both your original allocation and the new upgraded post.

How will the Sliding Mechanism work?

The SSC has introduced this new system to ensure that vacancies remaining unfilled due to candidates being absent during document verification—or failing to join after selection—can also be filled. Initially, identity verification will be conducted following the FRTA process. This will be followed by a "sliding round," during which candidates who opted for the 'Float' option may be allotted better posts based on their merit and the availability of vacancies. The final result issued at the conclusion of this process will be binding on all candidates.
**When and Where is Verification Scheduled for the Central Region?**

For candidates belonging to the Central Region, the verification process under the FRTA drive is scheduled to commence on April 13, 2026. This procedure will be conducted at the Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIITD), Deoghar. At the time of verification, it is mandatory for candidates to carry a valid Aadhaar Card (original), a printed copy of their slot booking confirmation, and their registered mobile number. The verification process will be based on OTP-based authentication.

**What was the Total Number of Vacancies in SSC CGL 2025?**
Under the SSC CGL 2025 examination, a total of 1,015 vacancies across various departments were slated to be filled. Now, with the aid of the sliding mechanism, any posts that remain vacant can also be filled. The 15,118 candidates who have been selected are advised to carefully complete the subsequent processes of document verification and the sliding round. Candidates should regularly check the SSC's official website, ssc.gov.in, for the latest updates.
