Aamir Khan Opens Up About His Life Journey
Aamir Khan, a prominent figure in Bollywood, celebrated his 60th birthday by introducing his girlfriend, Gauri Spratt, to fans and colleagues. The actor, who has been a beloved star for many years, has experienced two marriages. His first wife, Reena Dutta, is the mother of his children, Ira and Junaid Khan, while his second wife, Kiran Rao, shares a son, Azad Rao Khan, with him. Recently, Aamir shared insights into a challenging period in his life, particularly the emotional turmoil he faced when Reena left with their children.
Aamir Khan Discusses His Struggles with Alcohol
During an episode of Duologue with Barun Das, Aamir candidly spoke about how he coped with his divorce from Reena Dutta. He admitted to turning to alcohol, consuming it almost nightly for a year and a half. "I had never been a drinker until my first divorce. The day she left with the kids, I felt overwhelmed and turned to alcohol to numb my feelings," he explained. Aamir noted that he had only previously drunk for film scenes, but that night marked a significant change in his life.
He further elaborated on his drinking habits, stating, "I had some alcohol at home for guests, and I started drinking. For the next year and a half, I found myself consuming nearly a bottle each night," he concluded.
Aamir Khan's Marital History and Upcoming Projects
Aamir's first marriage to Reena Dutta took place in 1986, and they divorced in 2002. His second marriage to Kiran Rao began in 2005, after they met during the filming of Lagaan, where Kiran worked as an assistant director. They welcomed a son, Azad, but announced their separation in 2021 after 15 years together. On the professional front, Aamir was last seen in the film Sitare Zameen Par, released during Christmas 2025, and is set to appear in Sunny Deol's upcoming film Lahore 1947. He is also looking forward to the release of his production, Ek Din, a romantic drama featuring his son Junaid Khan and Sai Pallavi, which is a remake of the Thai film One Day and is scheduled for a May 1 release.
