In a distressing incident that has shaken Lucknow, a teenage girl was brutally assaulted while seeking shelter from heavy rain. This incident occurred on Tuesday evening in Sector M, within the jurisdiction of the Ashiyana police station. The victim, who works as a caregiver for children in a nearby home, was on her way to work when she sought refuge in an under-construction building.
Seeking Shelter from the Rain
As the rain intensified, the girl took cover inside the construction site. Allegations suggest that a worker at the site forcibly pulled her inside while his accomplices stood guard outside. When the victim resisted, the assailants bound her hands and feet, assaulted her, and muffled her cries with a cloth. Concerned for her well-being, the woman she worked for began searching for her when she did not arrive on time. Local residents grew suspicious and searched the building, ultimately finding the girl in a distressed state on the third floor.
Perpetrators Found Hiding
After locating the girl, local residents apprehended the workers who were found hiding near a water tank on the building's roof and severely beat them. Upon receiving the report, the Ashiyana police quickly arrived at the scene; the victim was rushed to Lokbandhu Hospital for a medical examination. Authorities have detained five workers from the site. Initial reports indicate that all suspects are from Sitapur. The police have registered a case under relevant sections related to rape and have commenced an investigation. According to the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Central, the incident of rape has been confirmed. Interrogations of the suspects are ongoing, and the police are in the process of recording the victim's statement while gathering detailed information about the entire incident.
