New Delhi: TheBangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has changed the match timings of the upcoming white-ball series againstNew Zealand men’s and women’s T20I series against Sri Lanka to support the government’s energy-saving initiative.
All three ODI matches in Dhaka and Chattogram were supposed to be day-night games. But now the board has said they will start these games three hours earlier. The ODIs will now begin at 11 AM local time and will finish by evening, before sunset, which is around 6:30 PM.
The board expects to save at least four hours in electricity consumption through this initiative. The men’s T20I matches will start from 2 PM, with the aim to finish by 5:10 PM. The first two T20I games in the three-match series were initially scheduled for 6 PM starts, while the third T20I was already scheduled to begin at 2 PM.
The women’s T20Is will be played in Sylhet on April 28 and 30, and May 2, and will now begin from 1.30 PM, instead of the originally scheduled 6 PM time.

“The board has decided to readjust the match timings of the forthcoming Bangladesh vs New Zealand ODI and T20I series to support the energy-saving initiative of the Bangladesh Government. The revised timing, which will be announced in due course, will aim to make maximum use of daylight in the day-night games,” the BCB said in a statement on Wednesday.
The first two ODI games will be played in Dhaka from April 17, and the third match will be held in Chattogram on April 23. The opening two T20I matches will be played in Chattogram from April 27, and the last match of the series will be played in Dhaka on May 2.
