During the trailer launch, Adivi Sesh shared that the film was originally slated for a March 19 release to coincide with Ugadi, the Telugu New Year. He noted that this timing was ideal for the film's southern audience. However, challenges arose in securing the desired theatrical presence due to the strong competition from Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar 2, which limited the number of screens and showtimes available for Dacoit.
Sesh explained that rather than proceeding with a compromised release, the team opted to reassess their strategy. They were determined to ensure the film received the appropriate platform and visibility upon its theatrical debut. After discussions with distributors, they concluded that April 10 would offer a more advantageous window, allowing for better screen allocation and showtimes. This confidence led them to finalize the new release date.
Dacoit features Adivi Sesh, Mrunal Thakur, and Anurag Kashyap in pivotal roles, telling the story of a vengeful convict seeking retribution against a former girlfriend who betrayed him. Directed by Shaneil Deo, the film has been shot in both Telugu and Hindi.
