The Sansad Khel Mahotsav is scheduled to take place in Mahabubnagar from April 9 to April 24. This event aims to foster a grassroots sporting culture, as stated by Member of Parliament DK Aruna.

In a recent statement, Aruna detailed that the tournament will include four sports: Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Cricket, and Volleyball. The competitions will be organized at various administrative levels, starting from the mandal level, with winners advancing to higher stages.

The MP noted a significant interest in the initiative, with around 3,000 teams anticipated to compete in the four sports. "The registration dates are set, and the games will kick off tomorrow at the mandal level, beginning with Narayanpet district headquarters," she added.

Event Timeline and Conclusion

Aruna explained that each competition stage will last four days, starting with mandal-level matches, followed by constituency and parliamentary contests. The event will wrap up on April 24 with a prize distribution ceremony and cultural performances.

The Governor has been invited as the chief guest for the final day, where they will honor and congratulate the participants.

Encouraging Inclusivity

Aruna emphasized the importance of inclusivity, urging youth from both rural and urban backgrounds to participate. "All young individuals, regardless of gender, are encouraged to join. This event is open to anyone aged 16 to 45 who has an interest in sports," she stated.
