‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ (Dhurandhar: The Revenge) The film is performing well at the box office. People are liking this spy thriller a lot and it is also doing very well in terms of earnings. But after the release of the film, a big controversy has arisen over the use of an old song. Bollywood’s famous production company ‘Trimurti’ Films has filed a case in the court against the film’s producer Aditya Dhar’s company B62 Studios.

Trimurti Films alleges that the very famous song “Tirchi Topiwale” from the old 1989 film Tridev has been used in the film ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ without permission and without license. This song was originally composed by Kalyanji-Anandji and its lyrics were written by Anand Bakshi. This song was sung by Amit Kumar and Afsana Khan. ‘Trimurti’ Films say that they have purchased or have control over the rights to the music and sound recording of this song.

New version in the film without changing the voice

A new version of this song or something very similar to it has been used in the film, in which some new lyrics and new sound have also been added. This new version has been remixed and composed by Shashwat Sachdev. T-Series had released the lyrical video of this song on YouTube, in which the credit of the original musician and singers has been given. But Trimurti Films alleges that their written permission was not taken before using it in the film. Therefore it is a violation of copyright rules.

What is sought in the lawsuit?

‘Trimurti Films’ has appealed to the court to immediately ban the further use of this song in the film. They should be given compensation for this violation. Any kind of commercial use of songs should be stopped in the theatrical release, online streaming and promotion of the film.
