Emmerdale's Jacob Sugden has been revealed as the person who crashed into Cain Dingle, but the situation has left one villager feeling dubious.

As fans of the ITV soap will know, budding doctor Jacob (played by Joe-Warren Plant) is being bullied by his mentor, Dr. Todd (Caroline Harker), at the hospital. On Tuesday (7th April), the medical student was sent home from work after Dr. Todd made it clear he didn't have what it takes to be a doctor, leaving him upset.

As he got behind the wheel, Jacob was distressed and drove off before slamming into Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley), who was about to leave for his operation to remove cancer in his prostate. On Wednesday (8th April), Cain was rushed to the hospital.

There, he and his family were informed he was on the mend but was unable to have his surgery because of the accident. Sarah Sugden (Katie Hill) was frantic as she worried about her grandad, Cain, after learning that her own husband, Jacob, was the culprit.

A worried Sarah took her anger out on Jacob, accusing him of being careless. He hesitantly tried to open up about his situation at work, but resolved not to go into details with Sarah.

Offering to have a chat with Jacob, Dr. Todd intended to humiliate him once again. "You're such a sensitive soul," she told him condescendingly when he reminded her how upset he'd been after their previous conversation.

"After what happened with your dad and me, I should never have been driving, not after the things you'd said to me. I was in a proper state," Jacob continued.

"How you reacted afterward has nothing to do with me," Dr. Todd insisted. "You've got years of this ahead of you. You're gonna get het-up about everything?"

Little did Dr. Todd know, but Kerry Wyatt (Laura Norton) could hear her berating Jacob and distressing the student doctor, leaving Kerry suspicious.

As it got too much to bear for Kerry, who was concerned for Jacob's mental health, she stormed into the room, pretending to be looking for Kyle (Huey Quinn).

Emmerdale fans are now convinced Kerry will be the person to save Jacob from Dr Todd and expose her as a villian.

Taking to X, one person wrote: "GET HER KERRY! #Emmerdale", while a second added: "Go Kerry #emmerdale."

A third chimed in: "Kerry will soon sort the evil doctor out #Emmerdale", while another urged: "Ooh Kerry...... please look out for Jacob #emmerdale."

"Kerry is going to make a Todd-skin coat by the end of all this, I reckon. #Emmerdale", added another.

Emmerdale airs weekdays on ITV and ITVX
