BCCI New Rules: During the 19th season of the Indian Premier League, BCCI has made a big and strict rule, which may affect the game plan of the teams. In fact, now the players sitting on the bench during the match will be able to roam around the field unnecessarily. During the match, only those 16 players will be allowed to enter the field, who have been included in the official team sheet by the team management. Apart from this, no additional players will neither enter the field nor will they be able to reach the players with drinks, bats or any messages.

BCCI becomes strict regarding IPL rules

BCCI and IPL management have instructed all the franchise teams that the players who are not included in the list of 16 official players are strictly prohibited from going on the field. These players will neither reach the field to give drinks nor take any message. According to the new rules of IPL, only 5 players can stay near the boundary line. These are the players who carry drinks on the field or return the ball that goes out of bounds.

Rest of the players will remain in the dugout

According to the report of Cricbuzz, sources of the IPL franchise team said that the remaining players will sit in the dugout only. They will not be allowed to roam between the LED advertising boards and near the boundary line. Let us tell you that earlier this rule was not so strict. Earlier players could go to the field with drinks, provided the game was not disrupted, but now BCCI has completely banned them by making clauses 11.5.2 and 24.1.4 of the Match Playing Conditions (MPC) even more stringent.

For this reason this big decision was taken

Let us tell you that no specific reason has been revealed regarding this new rule, but it is believed that BCCI has made this strict rule to maintain discipline in IPL matches and to prevent unnecessary commotion during the matches. A total of 13 matches have been played so far in IPL 2026. The 14th match is being played between Delhi Capitals and Gujarat Titans on 8 April at Arun Jaitley Stadium. This rule has come into effect from this match, because the players who are not included in the list of 16 official players are seen in the dressing room.
