Samay Raina didn’t hold back during his Still Alive show, even taking a cheeky dig at Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan. Recalling his appearance on Kaun Banega Crorepati in 2025, the comedian revealed that he had lied on the show about his grandmother being a fan of the actor.

“Dadi mar gayi hai meri. 7 saal ho gaye hain mere dadi ko mar ke," he said, as quoted by Free Press Journal. “Waha maine kiya – Sir dadi meri aapki bhot badi fan hai,” he added, admitting that he said it just to “play the room.”

Reflecting on the moment, Samay Raina explained his larger point about public personas online, saying, “You are not honest on the Indian internet. You cannot be yourself. You play the game, you play the room,” highlighting how people often adapt their behaviour depending on the situation.

Samay Raina continued his candid and edgy set in Still Alive, sharing how he consciously altered his personality while appearing on Kaun Banega Crorepati.

“Main samajhta tha, KBC mein jab ja raha tha, ki main har jagah h*rami banta hoon, yaha clean banunga na to log bolenge what a versatile creator,” he said, explaining his mindset of presenting a different, more clean version of himself on the show.

He also admitted that he had several “ulta seedha” thoughts while sitting on the hot seat but chose not to voice them. Sharing one such joke he held back, Samay revealed, “Sir, aapne itna polio ka ad kiya, phir bhi apne bete ko paon pe kyu nahi khada kar paye sir.”

Samay Raina on Ranveer Allahbadia’s controversial Latent comment

During the show, Samay Raina opened up with striking honesty about the controversy that followed India’s Got Latent. He spoke about the moment involving Ranveer Allahbadia, also known as BeerBiceps, whose question sparked backlash from a section of viewers.

Samay revealed that Ranveer had actually repeated the question multiple times before one version made it to the final cut. Adding his trademark humour, he said, “‘Chalo ek rakh deta hoon, baaki sab hata deta hoon.’ Toh mere POV se maine toh 99 per cent kitaanu (germs) maar diye the na yaar.”

His candid yet comic take on the situation had the audience in splits, and clips from the special have since started circulating widely across social media.
