One of the biggest questions people had for Samay was why he didn’t completely remove the moment from the episode. In his set, he explained that when he watched the raw footage, he found several parts inappropriate.

He shared that he decided to keep just one version of the question and cut out the rest. In his words, he felt like he had already removed most of the problematic parts and left behind only a small portion. He joked that from his point of view, he had already “cleaned up” almost everything before the episode went out.

The way he explained it, with humour and exaggeration, got a strong reaction from the audience, and clips from the show are now circulating widely online.

For those unfamiliar, the issue began in 2025 when Ranveer asked a contestant a question that many people found offensive. The comment quickly went viral and led to heavy backlash on social media.

Even though others on the panel, including Apoorva Mukhija and Ashish Chanchlani, laughed it off at the time, the response outside the show was very different. Multiple FIRs were filed against Ranveer and the creators of the show. The situation escalated to the point where some people involved also received death threats.

The matter became more serious when the National Commission for Women stepped in. Ranveer later issued a written apology. The Supreme Court also commented on the issue, criticising the remark and calling it inappropriate, while granting him temporary protection from arrest.

In his special, Samay didn’t just focus on the joke itself but also spoke about how things affected him afterward. He shared that he felt guilty seeing people around him face legal trouble and threats because of the controversy.
